FAST FACTS Santiago de Chile is the capital and largest city in Chile. The population of Chile is 17,295,000. Chile uses pesos. This is the Chile flag. Chile got its name from the Mapuche word chilli which means “ Deepest point in the earth”. Chile is 756,950 sq km. People in Chile speak Spanish. Chile is a democracy.

FAMOUS LANDMARKS AND SYMBOLS Coat of Arms Moai statues Christ Mountain Chacabuco Puerto Chacabuco is a Chilean town in Aisén commune. Administratively it belongs to Aisén Province in Aisén Region and is located at the head of Aisén Fjord. It is the main port of the region, a port of call for ships sailing to the Laguna San Rafael National Park and the terminus of a Navimag ferry service from Puerto Montt.
