General Information about the BGS degree 120 semester hours of coursework 25% of semester hours earned at NSU Can transfer in a max of 90 hours to be used for the BGS Must have a 2.0 average in all courses in the “groups of concentration” Must have a 2.0 average in all courses taken at NSU

Two-Page Curriculum Worksheet – General Overview

Relationship: General Education & Concentrations The upper half of the left column represents the university core that all students must complete to earn a bachelor’s degree. The lower half of the left column represents other requirements. The right column upper half lists the groups of concentrations. By completing the Core Requirements you also fulfill all but 9 hours of the Social Science concentration.

Confused? Though it may seem a little confusing at first, the BGS degrees allows a student to explore his/her interests while letting him/her complete a bachelor’s degree

Declared Concentration and Minor Most students will chose their minor from the same area of their concentration. You are allowed to “double-dip” and use some classes in more than one area. Later, we will see such an example from Sally Jo’s courses.
