SWBAT understand the growth and development of the human by by using the academic vocabulary: blood pressure, body system, cells, circulatory, digestive, lungs, muscular, neurons, organ, and peripheral. Students will understand how to add decimals with rational numbers using the academic vocabulary: tenths, hundredths, and decimal. STANDARDS By the end of the week, students will be able to analyze and create strategies for dividing fractions. By the end of the week, students will know how to identify the different body systems and describe all these systems work together. By the end of the week, students will extend their use and understanding of whole numbers in the addition of simple decimals. ESSENTIAL QUESTION How can you develop a method for dividing fractions? Why is it important to how your body works and how to take care of it? Why is it important to be able to add decimals? HOMEWORK Do Problems 7 – 44 to 7 – 48, pages 333 to 334 for homework. Work with team on 7.2.1 How can I calculate it? Problems 7-35 to 7-43. Read Chapter 6, lesson 1-5. Do Chapter 6 workbook, pages 36 - 45. Make foldable on page 149 and write/define academic vocabulary on it. Complete Lesson 4-5, Add Decimals, problems 1 to 42, pages 89 to 96. Copy the academic words and define them on a card and test your partner each day. TEST Your test will be a worksheet on Dividing Fractions. Your test will be Chapter 6 Assessment, questions 1 – 18 on page 178. Your test will be Adding Decimals worksheet. SPECIAL EVENTS Interim assessment covering standards NS 5-8 on 13 and 14 March 2017. Extra credit: Draw the different body systems from lessons 1 to 5. Label and color them and bring to class on Thursday. There is no school on 20 February 2017.
