Remember these tips to help you with technology-enhanced questions
REMEMBER: Select ALL correct answers to receive credit for the item. Multi-select Multiselect items are worth one point. Multiselect items do not have partial credit. “Select all” from either 5, 6, or 7 responses to choose all correct answers. Read all responses REMEMBER: Select ALL correct answers to receive credit for the item.
EQUATION EDITOR EQUATION, EXPRESSION Make sure that the answer is in the correct format IN NUMERIC KEYPAD The negative sign is not a subtraction sign, since if it was there would be an addition sign PERCENT – no percent key so all percent must be written as decimals or fractions Use fractions or decimals for probability DOUBLE EQUAL SIGN IS NOT ACCEPTED – do not show work on EQ items
DELETE KEY is not an “undo” key RAY direction is important grid DELETE KEY is not an “undo” key RAY direction is important The ARROW KEY can be hard to use. Make sure you practice using the arrow for functionality.

Sample Problem LET’S TRY A PROBLEM
2 minutes to solve this problem. Sample Problem You will have exactly 2 minutes to solve this problem.
Select All That Apply Walter is buying a new chess set. The original price of the set is $35, and Walter has a coupon for 12% off the original price. Walter wants to know the price after he uses the coupon. Select the equations Walter can use, and determine the final price of the chess set. Select all that apply. Walter has to pay $ for the chess set after using the coupon. Student sample question - grade 7 select all that apply
SOLUTION This is one way students can approach the problem. Grade 7
100% Price after the coupon x dollars Percent paid after the coupon There are four quantities in this solution Original price $35 Original percent 100% Price after the coupon x dollars Percent paid after the coupon 88% Student sample questions grade 7 select all that apply.
x is 88% of the original price, and $35 is 100% of the original price x is 88% of the original price, and $35 is 100% of the original price. These ratios are equal to each other, so we can write the equation below. 𝒙 𝟖𝟖% = $𝟑𝟓 𝟏𝟎𝟎% Student sample questions grade 7 select all that apply.
We can also say that the ratio of x to $35 is equal to the ratio of 88% to 100%. 𝒙 $𝟑𝟓 = 𝟖𝟖% 𝟏𝟎𝟎% Student sample question grade 7 select all that apply.
This equation is not true. 𝒙 𝟏𝟎𝟎% ≠ $𝟑𝟓 𝟖𝟖% Student sample question grade 7 select all that apply.
This equation is not true. 𝒙 $𝟑𝟓 ≠ 𝟏𝟐% 𝟏𝟎𝟎% Student sample question grade 7 select all that apply.
To find the price with the coupon, we need to solve one of the correct equations for x. Let's pick one of the equations. We can solve this for x by multiplying both sides by 88%. 𝒙 𝟖𝟖% = $𝟑𝟓 𝟏𝟎𝟎% Student sample question grade 7 select all that apply.
