Exploring Social Media The "social" part of the word refers to interacting with other people by sharing information with them and receiving information from them. (Moreau, 1) The "media" part: refers to an instrument of communication, example given would be a computer, TV, radio or newspapers are examples of more traditional forms of media. (Moreau, 1) Exploring Social Media

Social Science & Social Media Interactive social science defines web-based communication with the utilization of tools that enable people to interact with each other, by both sharing and consuming information. (Auer, 1) Assuming that surveillance of the environment, correlation of components of society are available. (Lasswell, 1) And there’s a cultural transmission between generation. (Lasswell. 1)

Natural Evolution As an initial and primitive movement that begin with newsgroups and newspapers, Social media has changed the way we communicate, gather and share information and given rise to new knowledge and understanding to further develop and enhanced a digitally connected global society. (Morrison, 1)

Information “Born Digital” As we engage with Twitter, Facebook, and other social media outlets. We notice the increasing advertised aspects in platforms. There is a arrangement of legitimacy towards a networks of friends, who provide distant change and to digital data. (Erway, 1) As these markets grow with the exceptional values to the production of anonymous data. The growth of public interest and advancement in future balancing increases as well. (Morrison, 1)

Personal Thoughts of Social Media Through the usage of user accounts we learn how to discover new people and their cultures. When we find profile pages, and then we can learn about different people and their cultures.

The Big Trend Often the word “Social Media” is confused with the term “networking” it describes almost any website on the internet as of today that is utilized by a community of internet users, who display need to seek communication. (Moreau, 1)

Social Media & Its Significance Americans nowadays find themselves in some shape or form being involved in social media. people are given suggestion to enter and influencing factors many arenas of public life. (Moreau, 1) Social media has been embedded in our community for the past decade. (Moreau, 1) Operation of Social Media types of markets has strengthened the ideals of government and the collection of data for key purposes. (Obama, 1) The usage of social media has governed public interest through a system to demonstrates community awareness. (Obama, 1)

Social Media: Full Circle In the early 2000s, There was something called the “Dot Com boom”, across the world wide web, it showcased stories about how the Internet was going to change the world and dominate news headlines. (Shetty, 1) As we Fast forward to now and what we know as The “Internet of Things” is combined with “Big Data” have the potential to drastically change our world once again. (Shetty, 1)

Web 2.0 & Its Significant As Web 2.0 began to surface the internet, everything from both programming and business presentation were effected, and most visually specifications that accrued on a regular basis were updated. (Zheng, 1) More importantly, Web 2.0 gave the internet users the ability to sharing entire pieces of data between different websites. (Zheng, 1) Through a basic indexing method, internet search engines were being localizing and sorted by data system administrator had made comprehensive contributions to refining data processed in the social media markets. (Zheng, 1)

The Global Pulse Is represented by many nations and is flagship of innovation initiative created by the United Nations Secretary-General on big data. Its vision is a future in which big data is harnessed safely and responsibly as a public good. (UN,1) This initiative was established based on a recognition that digital data offers the opportunity to gain a better understanding of changes in human well-being on social societies, and to get real-time feedback on how well policy responses are working. (UN, 1)

Transparency and Open Government President Obamas, interpretation of Social Media is one that encourages government interaction with the citizens of the United States and other communities. This directive allows the government o transparently participate and collaborate digitally. This memorandum promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government engagements and signifies involvement is a arrangement that enhances the Government's effectiveness and improves the quality life and many decisions. (Obama,1)

Social Media is an online effort designed to be used through public domain for users to become both author and critic and connect with friends, classmates, company professionals and government to evaluate local, state, national and international relevant issues. The Government leaders and many agencies have increasingly harnessing the powers of utilize social media. The need for a specialized author to utilize his or her thoughts has been a main means for online communications.
