A V R I G RENEWABLE ENERGY CATALYST OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Location

Avrig vision : „Avrig will become one of Romania's leading centers for renewable energy by 2020 and aims to become energy independent by 2030. This will result in new jobs, lower utility bills and a city that is KNOWN as a good place to invest, work, live and visit. .

LOCAL ENERGY Program The local contribution to combat climate change. An integrated model for GREEN energy efficient communities.

LOCAL ENERGY Program The proposed investment aims that Avrig becomes an integrated energy model by: : modernizing and extending the energy infrastructure; attracting investors; implementing the energy efficiency measures; - creating work places within the renewable energy industry.

LOCAL ENERGY Program focuses on: Energy efficiency measures: - Thermal insulation - Replacement of the individual heating systems Renewable energy production Decrease greenhouse gases and CO2 emissions

LOCAL ENERGY Program consists of the following projects: 1 micro-hydro power station on the river of Avrig; 1 micro-hydro power station on the main water supplying pipe of Avrig; 1 central heating power station exploring biomass ensuring thermal energy for the residential area in Marsa, Marsa industrial platform and the former Marsa military site; 1 central heating power station exploring biogas ensuring thermal energy for both the 2 residential areas in Avrig and the Centre for Renewable Energy 1 photovoltaic power station in Avrig South; Heat distribution networks in Avrig and Marsa; Transportation network for renewable energy produced on roofs of public buildings and housing blocks; Thermal insulation and assembling of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of housing blocks
