Learn About Our Class Supplies-Replenish whatever runs out. Getting help-Extra help available every day @7:30 except Wednesday AND sometimes during lunch, in our classroom. Questions? Class goals-Respect yourself and those around you. 100% effort required at all times. Bring a healthy snack every day. Eat breakfast every day. Bring water bottle every day. WE ARE PEANUT FREE – NO NUTS ALLOWED!!!!

Get to Know Me My experience My background I have taught Pre-K, Grade 6, and Grade 5 in Floral Park for the past 30 years. Before becoming a teacher I had several other jobs. I grew up in Manhattan, Queens, and Williston Park I attended Herricks High School, graduated in 1974, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Queens College. In addition to Education, I studied music and voice at Juilliard in Manhattan. I am a single parent who adopted 2 girls from China. My oldest (Lieren)is now 20 and in college and my youngest (Catherine) is 18 and just started college this year. I love teaching and learning. One thing I am studying now is Chinese.

Classroom Community Our classroom rules help us get along with each other: Be respectful and responsible. Be organized and follow directions. Be on time. Be prepared with supplies/study every night. Do your homework/projects on time It is OK to make a mistake – it is how we all learn. Watch your own behavior. If you choose to break the rules, there are consequences.

Homework 30 minutes of homework every night. Read 30 minutes every day. ALL homework is due the next day unless noted. Checked every day during that subject. Should be done neatly-not rushed with careless mistakes. Includes extra time each day for review and practice. Projects have due dates that must be followed.
