Who may recommend someone to serve on a USTA national committee? all of the above

According to the USTA bylaws, who appoints individuals to USTA national committees? the President and Chairman of the Board of the USTA (Bylaw 47)

What is the average size of a USTA national committee? 10-12 members (varies)

All of the following are used to select persons to serve on national committees EXCEPT: NTRP rating

USTA National Volunteer Application Name and contact information USTA membership ID number What committee(s) applying for (up to 3) What position(s) applying for Skills and/or areas of expertise Current tennis-related activities Other volunteer activities outside tennis

USTA Council/Committee Recommendation Form Nominator (your) information Nominee (candidate) information Is the candidate (nominee) willing and available to serve? Have you informed the candidate to submit the Volunteer Application? Can submit up to four names per form but can submit as many forms as you like

False Everyone seeking appointment must complete a USTA National Volunteer Application to serve again in the 2011-2012 term.

Timeline: August 2010 Sections discuss recommendations for national committees Online and paper submission of recommendation forms (for self and other) made available to anyone at www.usta.com

Timeline: September 2010 All National Volunteer Applications and recommendation forms due at the USTA office no later than September 20 USTA Board of Directors slate for the 2010-2011 term shared

Timeline: October – November 2010 USTA Board of Directors for 2011-2012 affirmed Incoming President appoints Council Chairs and Committee Chairs Incoming USTA President meets with AGC in White Plains to make all remaining committee appointments

Timeline: December 2010 – January 2011 Board, sections, committee chairs and all members notified of committee appointments in December 2010 USTA Board and Section Leadership Meeting (including new committee chairs), January 2011
