My Records Main Menu MyRecords Menu gives you the ability to see your pay stub, 1095-C Form, benefits, update your W-4 form and many more options.

My Paystub Please contact Human Resources if your name or address is not accurate since this is the information that will appear on your W-2. W-2 forms will be mailed to terminated employees based on the address on file. NOTE - There is one column for current Taxes/Deductions and another column for year to date (YTD) amounts. EARNINGS Earnings is defined as gross pay. Gross pay is the total amount earned before any withholdings or deductions have been taken. Please contact your department if your salary is not correct.

Direct Deposit Detail You are allowed up to three direct deposit accounts.

Direct Deposit Changes To make changes to your direct deposit account, please complete the MUSC Payroll Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement Form in the forms library. Once complete, please fax to the Payroll Department (843-792-6157) or drop off in person (19 Hagood Ave – 5th floor, Harborview Tower). Please be patient with us when we ask for additional information to verify your identity.

Updating Form W-4 via MyRecords Employees have the option of submitting the completed W-4 via email, fax or in person at the HR Office

Sample W-4 Form The amount of income tax your employer withholds from you pay depends on two items: The amount you earn, How you fill out the W-4 form (marital status, number of allowances, additional dollar amount withheld). Contact Payroll with questions.

Pay Schedules The payroll cycle calendar provides useful information to Kronos supervisors, time-keepers and employees on University payroll processing timelines and deadlines. It details beginning and ending pay periods as well as the paydays.

Leave Balances Within the Pay Period For further details on the days and times you were paid within this pay period, you can access details on the timeclock, verify with your timekeeper or contact the Payroll department. Note: Leave balances in the paystub are not always current for monthly employees due to leave calendar cutoff. See cutoff calendar on the following slide.

Payroll Leave Calendar The available leave balance follows this schedule for 2017.

Calculating Taxable Wages Gross Wages MINUS PRETAX DEDUCTIONS = Taxable Federal wages SAMPLE CALCULATION Gross Current Wages $ 3,269.59 LESS St Retirement* (283.15) MUSC Health* (97.68) MoneyPlus Fee * (0.28) Federal Taxable Wages $ 2,888.48

Pre-tax Deductions Employees with pretax deductions will see an “*” after the applicable deductions and a MoneyPlus admin fee. The MoneyPlus admin fee is the pre-tax premium feature which allows employees to pay their health, dental (plus), and up to $50,000 of optional life insurance premiums before taxes. If you have further questions or you need to sign up for MoneyPlus for tax savings, please contact Human Resources Benefits for assistance. Post tax deductions will not reduce taxable income.

Q: What is Opt Ret-Undec on my paystub? Q&A Q: What is Opt Ret-Undec on my paystub? Q: Why are my tax withholdings higher on my award? A: Opt-Ret-undec is the truncated name for undecided retirement. Participation in one of the state retirement plans is mandatory for Classified Employees, Faculty and employees with prior SCRS pension accounts (active or inactive). You have 30 days from your hire date to select a retirement plan. Federal law mandates the employer must withhold taxes at the supplemental rate of 25 percent for supplemental wages. Supplemental pay examples include awards, bonus, dual employment, unused annual leave & termination pay. SC state law mandates 7 percent. Q:What is OTL imputed NC on my paystub? If you participate in the pre-tax premium feature (listed as MoneyPlus admin fee), then your entire optional life premium is deducted pretax. IRC section 79 provides an exclusion for the first $50,000 of group term life insurance coverage provided under a policy carried directly or indirectly by an employer. The imputed cost of coverage in excess of $50,000 must be included in income, using the IRS Premium Table, and are subject to applicable taxes. The imputed income is listed under “Earnings” as OTL imputed NC.
