ABOUT US AN OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANISATION Our vision Governance: In Sutton we have a Children’s Trust Board which is chaired by Cllr Wendy Mathys who is the Lead Member and the Chair of the Children, Family and Education Committee. It has representatives from the most senior levels across all children’s services in the Borough. Cllr Mathys also chairs the Corporate Parenting Board which is providing scrutiny and challenge of all matters relating to Looked After Children and Care Leavers. The Local Safeguarding Children Board is independently chaired by Christine Davies CBE and its functions is set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2015). Sutton Safer Partnership oversees all matters relating to community safety, including coordination of the domestic abuse strategy. The People Directorate is made up of Adult Services and Children’s Services and came into effect on 1 April 2015. It is lead by Tolis Vouyioukas, Strategic Director. The Public Health service became a Council function at the same time. Shared services arrangements are in place between Merton in respect of Human Resources (HR) and Legal Service. IT services are shared with Merton, Kingston, Richmond.
