Cover Letters Layout “hook”-tell them why you’re writing “pitch”-tell them why you’re the best candidate “close”-summary, close with “Sincerely”

Questions to Expect in an Interview Why are you interested in this company? What salary do you expect? What best qualifies you for this position? Where do you expect to be in 5 years? Tell me something about yourself. How do you work under pressure? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What motivates you to work? Why should I hire you? When can you start?

Questions You May Ask May I see a written job description? Who will be my direct supervisor? What are you looking for in the individual that will fill this position? What is the starting salary? (salaried vs. hourly) What will my weekly schedule look like? Is there travel involved? How much? Is there “on call”? How often? How would you describe the work environment? Do you support continuing education? How? When may I expect a decision?
