PE & Sports Premium
How to use the PE and sport premium Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money. For example, you can use your funding to: hire specialist PE teachers hire qualified sports coaches to work with teachers provide existing staff with teaching resources to help them teach PE and sport support and involve the least active children by running or extending school sports clubs, holiday clubs and Change4Life clubs run sport competitions or increase pupils’ participation in the School Games run sports activities with other schools
Priorities for 2014-15 Opportunities are developed for higher attaining / gifted & talented children in PE by extending participation and level of achievement in inter-school sports tournaments (level 2 & 3) Raise standards in quality of teaching across the PE curriculum and consequently raise standards of learning. Raise standards in swimming across key stage 2. Increase the number of sports offered through PE lessons through staff training in new sports e.g. handball, tri golf etc. Improve athletics resources. Raise the quality and the number of children involved in physical activity at lunchtimes. Improve and update PE resources
