Sensitivity is plotted against 1 − specificity (or the false positive rate) for various cut-off values. The ideal test is one that approaches or reaches the upper left corner of the graph (100% sensitivity and 100% specificity). A test that approximates a coin flip yields a diagonal from the lower left to the upper right corner of the graph. The cut-off point that has the best combination is located at the “knee” of the graph and is labeled for each parameter (A–G). The cut-off values of the test are given in Table 3.
