Excretory System. Respiration Waste When respiration occurs, your body breaks down oxygen and glucose. The waste products are carbon dioxide and water.
The Human Excretory System The function of the excretory system is to excrete (get rid of) wastes that are not helpful to the body.

Excretory System Urinary system

Pennsylvania State standard 10.1.9 Analyze the interdependence existing among the body system.

What you will learn! Describe the function of the Urinary system. Identify the parts of the Urinary system. Explain how to care for the Urinary system.

Excretory system The main function of the Urinary system is to remove liquid waste. It is made up of the kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra. Most of the excretory system is controlled by the nervous system. Except when urinating.

Parts of the Excretory System Kidneys – Organs that filter water and dissolved waste from the blood. Help maintain the proper level of water and salt in the body. Substance filter out is called urine. Ureters – Are narrow tubes that carry urine to the bladder from the kidneys. Bladder – This is where the urine is stored until the bladder is full. Urethra – Tube leaving from the bladder to the outside of the body. On a signal from the nervous system the urine is released from the bladder into the urethra and out of the body.

Disease of the excretory system. Kidney stones – stones which are mineral crystals from in the kidneys. They block the exit of urine from the kidney to the bladder. This is very painful. Care and prevention is drinking eight 8oz glasses of water a day.

WILT Write an information brochure on the urinary system. Include the following question below: Describe the function of the urinary system in detail. (What they do, How they function.) What are the problems of the urinary system. Why is it important to drink adequate water? What benefits does this give to the urinary system when drinking water? How is Urinary system interdependence with the other system?
