Why an Alumni Card? Goals: Develop and implement an Alumni Card by Sept. 1, 2016 (3 months) Leverage all channels of communication Secure sponsorship to underwrite the program. Objectives: Meaningfully engage alumni Reiterate all graduates are now members of the Alumni Association Obtain updated alumni contact information Measure and track alumni participation Provide efficient mechanism for corporate partners to identify UH alumni Ultimately, develop a relevant alumni engagement scoring model

Two Different forms of the Alumni Card Hard Plastic Card Given to all Life Members and Joint Life Members, all donors over $5,000 (6,900) President’s Cabinet and Deans Digital Card Given to all UH Main Campus Graduates (94,680) Also given to people of the categories listed above

What does the Alumni Card Look Like? Each Card Contains The graduates name A bar code with their Alumni ID (Advance ID) A QR code Contact information Logos on the Card UHAA TDECU

How to download and access the digital card? How do you use it? Plastic Alumni Cards merely need to be presented at UHAA events or to our partners How to download and access the digital card? Visit HoustonAlumni.com “Resources” to download your digital card How to use the QR code with explanation? You must have a smartphone equipped with a camera and a QR code reader/scanner application feature. You can scan your unique QR code from your computer monitor, printout, or in some cases some programs let you scan an image on your currently on your phone.  Once, the code has been scanned you’ll be able to participate in  various promotions, contests, and fun alumni activities in the future.

Launch Timing July 7th – First teaser went to alumni via email about the card Week of July 15th - Social Media teasers began August 22nd – Official Launch of Alumni Card via email September 1st – Plastic Alumni Cards arrive in homes Alumline prominently featuring Alumni Card arrives in homes Email to all grads showcasing promotions

On-Going Communication Pre and Post event communication In conjunction with new UHAA Website Monthly and quarterly promotions (all and Life Members) New Life Members and Alumni Donors >$5K cumulative New Graduates (December, May and August)

Updates Since Launching the Card Launched first QR promotion 200 participants entered: 90 won a UHAA tumbler Campus Partners continue to see activity Library Campus Rec Bookstores

Updates Since Launching the Card General inquiries to the alumni@uh.edu email From Sept. 2015 – July 2016: averaged 139/mo In Aug. 2016, during alumni card teaser, received 490 In Sept, 2016, alumni card launch, received 1,062 For informational updates (name, address, email, etc.) From August 15 – Sept. 30: 588 records Over 500 Alumni used their alumni card at the UCONN Party on the Plaza
