Wireless Access Point Product Overview GWN7610 Wireless Access Point Product Overview

What is the GWN7610? Wireless Access Points that facilitate wired and wireless network access to large custom areas indoors Easy and centralized management through a single interface Powerful wireless throughput and wide coverage area GWN7610 Access Point

GWN7610 Wireless Access Point New GWN7610 Wireless Access Point Supports more than 250+ WiFi client devices. 1.75Gbps wireless throughput and 2x Gigabit wireline ports. 175-Meter coverage range for superior device mobility. Dual-band 3x3:3 MIMO technology Advanced Wi-Fi security features, including WEP, WPA/WPA2-PSK, WPA/WPA2-Enterprise Offers simultaneous dual band Wi-Fi signals. Embedded controller for auto-discovery, auto-provision, and management of up to 50 GWN7610s.

Feature Highlights Range: 175 meters (575 feet) SSID: 16 SSIDs per each GWN7610 Network Speeds: Dual-band Wi-Fi with maximum throughput of 450Mbps for 2.4 GHz, and1300 Mbps for 5 GHz Anti-Theft: Kensington lock mount for added anti- theft protection Client Access: Over 250 concurrent clients per GWN7610. Paid access is optional.

802.11 Standards Standard Band Pros/Cons 802.11a 5 GHz Band Interference due to walls, and other structure, commonly used 802. 11b 2.2 GHz Band Interference, due to baby monitors, Bluetooth devices, microwave ovens. etc, commonly used 802.11g 2.4 GHz Band Interference due to, Bluetooth devices, wireless keyboards 802.11n 2.4 and 5 GHz Bands Less interference due to ability to work in 2.4 and 5 GHz band 802.11ac (also called Wave 2) More spatial streams (up to 8), Wave 2 (2015) supports up to 160 MHz channels, 4 spatial streams

Security: Encryption WEP - a security algorithm that provides data confidentiality. WPA - a security standard for those who use computers with a Wi-Fi connection. WPA/WPA-2 PSK - secures the network using WPA2 along with an PSK authentication- PSK is typically for home users who don’t have an authentication server. WPA/WPA-2 Enterprise - secures the method with a single password but requires a RADIUS authentication server WPA-AES - encryption standard used internationally by banks, governments and financial institutions for multiple methods of communication, not just Wi-Fi. WPA2-TKIP - Similar to AES, but older and less secure. Works well when used in conjunction with WPA-AES.

Built-In Controller Embedded controller in the GWN7610 Web UI allows any GWN7610 to provision, configure and manage entire networks of up to 50 other GWN7610s Allow setup and management of an AP network to be centralized, quickly and easily Especially great for existing WiFi network deployments Requires use of a DHCP server (could be a router, a UCM IP PBX, etc)

Built-In Controller Log in to GWN7610 web user interface (the first GWN7610 accessed will become the master) Setup Wizard will automatically configure the GWN7610 as the master and allow you to create a device name, an initial SSID and network groups Create a password and optionally edit security settings and network settings Connect additional GWN7610s you wish to pair with master GWN7610 to the same network Using the master GWN7610s Web UI, go to the “Access Points” screen where you will see auto-discovered GWN7610s and click the “Action” button to automatically pair those GWN7610s with the master GWN7610 You can also create additional SSIDs and Network Groups to extend to GWN7610S on your network. You can pick and choose which network groups or SSIDs are available on each GWN7610.
