Final Major Project - Intro Welcome to My Presentation!  - For my Final Major Project, the aim is to create a project that can show all the skills we have learnt throughout the two-year course.   - That can either be a print based project or a moving image based project. - Needs to fit in terms of Budget and how achievable it can be.

The chosen idea - BUT WHY? 2/ The ‘Away Day Journey’ Documentary As a Football fan, Away days have always been something many fans both love and want other people to try. I think a documentary asking fans why it’s such an important thing in the Footballing World can teach people why we love Away days. What makes it so special? How is it different to a home gamer? Why would you travel half way round the country to see your team lose? This Documentary will aim to explain that. 

My research: Davo’s dairy Interviews My research: Davo’s dairy Fan Reactions Stereotypical Footage  Match Footage  Fans Singing  My Thoughts: Overall, I think Davo does an excellent job in capturing what an Away day is to Football fans. However, For what I plan to do, I'd like to take some of the things Davo does such as the camera angles he uses and what he does when it comes to interviews but maybe add a more formal twist explaining what an away day is to people who might not have a clue. Davo's Dairy is a Birmingham City series hosted by Davo, A Birmingham City fan who follows Birmingham City round the country. The Series has interviews with fans asking for predictions on the game and records fan reactions throughout the game. The videos Davo creates are then published on the Birmingham City Official Youtube Channel which has over 17k followers. Davo also has his own channel with over 7K followers.

My research: SKY BET AWAY DAYS Match Day Footage/Fan Reactions  My research: SKY BET AWAY DAYS Interviews  Voiceover Plenty of Alternative Footage  Background Music Travelling down the 330 miles journey to Yeovil Town with Carlisle United Supporters. The video is based on the fans and solely the fans. Asking fans of their journey from supporting their team to what they think of away days. My Thoughts: The video itself is very simple, Rather then concentrating on the whole game or even the whole day out the video concentrates on the fans. What I like about this is how it focuses on the fans and what the fans think of ‘Away Days’ and most importantly why they do it. Through the Journey, The Interview 'Ian' asks fans about their memories of Away games.

MY THOUGHTS: My research: JD Sports Background Music Humor Facts (Did You Know?) My research: JD Sports Interviews Alternative/ Stereotypical  Footage  Confident Presenter  End of game thoughts  Build up to match  JD sports created a mini-series that looks into the away day experience all over Europe. With a host that brings facts, Talks to Football fans and joins in the experience the series is a hit with many Football fans. Shows the World of Football at its finest. Brings facts to the places visited ‘Did You Know’ Series. MY THOUGHTS: I think JD sports looks at the big games in Football and showcases what that brings from a fans point of view.

What  PEOPLE WANT:  - Getting the Perspective (Interviews) of the fans is highly important. Understanding what an Away day is and showcasing the build up. Facts about the new area you are visiting/ Cool facts people might want to know! Reactions of the game itself.  Add a bit of banter (Humour) The Journey (What you do to get to the game!)

My Target audience: - The age range from my documentary is really for people who want to know why Away days are such a awesome experience for many Football fans. However, Starting from the age of 14/15, You are legally allowed by the clubs to attend away games without Parents. - My target audience are not just simply people who like Football but people who want to understand what an away day is and why in Football it's seen as such a thing that you need to experience.

Audience research: Questionnaire (10 Questions) Share on Social Media, Football groups and friends and family. Understand the results and use them to help me create my documentary.

What I want to achieve: Should I experience such an event? I’d hope you would say ‘Yes’ or at least understand why people enjoy it. ​ I’d like for my Documentary to showcase what an Away Day mean to Football fans and why it’s so important.  I want questions that people who might not know what an away day is to be answered. For example: Why would you follow your team to see them lose? The aim for my project is too answer that. To show the Sport as its finest and fans sticking together singing and have a good day despite the result.
