Rev 2:4-5 “But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first.”
The History of Leadership
Is Leadership Important? To God? Did God Have Leaders in the Patriarchal Time? FATHERS God Expected Them to Lead and Teach Their Families in the Way of the Lord.
The Mosaic Period God Created Several Positions of Leadership. Fathers Were Still to Lead Their Families (Dt. 6) Moses Became Israel’s Deliverer and Leader. Ex. 3:16-18 = Israel Had 70 Elders (Ex. 24:1). Ex. 16:22 = Leaders Are Mentioned, However, Where are They in Ex. 18? Ex. 18 = Jethro Advises Moses to Get Some Help. Leaders of 1,000’s, 100’s, 50’s, and 10’s are appointed.
The Mosaic Period Some of the Most Important Leaders Were the Priests. What About a King? God Was Their King Until the Days of Samuel.
The Mosaic Period 4 Positions of Leadership Came to be Established in Israel. Jer. 2:26 Kings Princes Priests Prophets ALL WERE TO BE SPIRITUAL LEADERS
The Mosaic Period When Israel’s Leadership Was Faithful So Was Israel. When Israel’s Leadership Was Sinful So Was Israel. Jer. 8:1 Jer. 23:1-6
