RESTORATION WHAT DOES IT MEAN ?
TO PLACE BACK IN ORIGINAL CONDITION TO RESTORE TO PLACE BACK IN ORIGINAL CONDITION
THE MEANING OF RESTORATION To restore the New Testament church in zeal, teaching, and practice To speak where the Bible speaks and to be silent where the Bible is silent To return to the New Testament as our authority and guide
BASIS FOR RESTORATION Jesus established his church (Matt. 16:18) There were warnings of a “falling away” (II Thess. 2:1-8) The church departed from God’s original plan (I Tim. 4:1-4) There was an apostasy from the church as God gave it (Acts 20:28-32) The Bible plan is still the same (I Pet. 1:22-23) Our duty is to call people back to God’s original plan (I Pet. 4:11; Isa. 8:20; Jer. 6:16).
