Dudelange – Luxembourg 01 July 2017 2nd International H2 Water-polo Challenge Dudelange – Luxembourg

Dear Water-polo Friends, It is with great pleasure that I welcome all of you again in Dudelange, as participants in the second edition of this truly international water-polo event. Last year this event has been very well received by participating teams, organizers as well as city officials. So last year the foundation was laid for a tradition to grow into the future, and although there are numerous water-polo tournaments held throughout the summer period, the event in Dudelange will further grow into a very special happening. Also in 2017, teams out of five different countries are represented here today. The Organizing Committee has done a lot of work to make your stay enjoyable, and in case you have any unresolved issues, do not hesitate to inform the Challenge Director. This beautiful sporting event is furthermore actively supported by the authorities of the City of Dudelange, for which I am again extremely thankful. So it is now up to you players to provide us with your best performance as you strive for top ranks!! Alex GOERGEN Chairman CNDu

Participating Water-polo Friends, Welcome to the SECOND edition of the International H2 Water-polo Challenge Dudelange!! Once again, in this year we say “WELCOME” to teams from The Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. We remain grateful that you have chosen to be with us on this day, and we hope that you will find the tournament to be a challenging sports event, with a relaxing atmosphere and the possibility to renew friendships. In the next couple of pages you will find some more detailed information for the day of the event. This will be the second edition of this event, and thus it is entirely possible that we may still have room for improvement. Please assist us in providing any suggestions that we might consider for the 2018 edition of the event. And of course, stand ready to be invited again next year; the date shall be 30 June 2018. Mark your calendars!!! Helmut HASSINK Challenge Director Mobile: +352 621 28 35 36

Things you need to know: The side entrance to the outside swimming pool can be found via the parking lot in front of Centre Sportif Réne Hartmann in Dudelange. More car parking is available in the lot situated on Rue du Parc (see map). You may bring the car up to the side entrance for unloading, then please park for the day as indicated. In order to have a smooth organization, it is requested all teams start their games on time!! Dressing and shower facilities are available within the sports complex. More info can be obtained upon arrival. There shall be a possibility to purchase drinks and BBQ food, the relevant stands will be easy to find on the site of the outside pool. It is important to note that another event (Synchrone Swimming Ladies) shall be held in the early evening. Therefore all water-polo players must leave the water right after the end of the finals games! Of course you are welcome to stay thereafter for the price ceremony and a farewell drink! We count on your goodwill to keep the grounds incl. showers and toilets as clean as possible.

The Playing Rules: 1 – All games shall be 2 x 10 minutes continuously with a 2 minutes break, except for the “Finals” games which shall be 2 x 12 minutes continuously with a 3 minutes break. 2 – The 30 seconds rule applies, and the exclusion time is 20 seconds. Exclusion for brutality is 5 minutes. Time-outs are not allowed. 3 – Games shall be played on two fields. Field 2 is the field closest to the diving platform. 4 – The first team indicated in the schedule shall play with white caps and start at the left side of the jury tables. 5 – In case a team appears too late at the start of game, it will start with 5-0 loss; if a team does not show up after two minutes there shall be a forfeit with 10-0. 6 – For the “Finals” games, in case there is an even score after 24 minutes, the game shall not be interrupted and the team that makes the “Golden Goal” thereafter shall be declared as winner. 7 – There shall be two referees per game, and a principal referee for the whole Challenge. 8 – Complaints and disputes shall be handled by the principal referee. No protests are allowed against decisions taken by the principal referee.

The Playing Rules (cont’d): 9 – The Challenge Director shall take final decisions on any aspects except on the referee performance. 10 – In case of disorderliness or damages caused by a team, it shall be held responsible for the incurred liability, be it legal and/or financial. Also relevant national water-polo authorities shall be informed per letter. 11 – Participating teams are requested to take care of their own insurance against personal accidents. 12 – The organizer shall not be held responsible for any accidents or loss or theft of property. 13 – By registering in the morning (09.00 hrs Briefing Captains, payment of EUR 50,-), the participating teams express their agreement with these Challenge Rules. 14 – Participating teams are requested to play all of their assigned games, and stay until the end of the Challenge (prize ceremony is estimated to start around 17.15 hrs).
