New options for this year…. Option Name Brief Description Drawing and Painting This course offers a basic introduction and starting points to the language and grammar of drawing and painting from direct observation for students with little or no experience. Working from studio set ups, the life model and from students’ own collected visual ideas, students will be guided through approaches and processes of looking and recording using line, tone, colour and composition in a range of drawing and painting techniques. Over the weeks, students will build confidence in the uses of materials and techniques ‘step-by-step’ to begin to make more imaginative and distinctive images underpinned by a formal understanding of visual enquiry. Formula 1 in Schools Animal Care Basic theory of caring for a range of animals including current welfare legislation, animal first aid, exploring the animal industry and support in finding work experience placements. There may be the opportunity to visit to a range of animal related businesses including dog crèche centre, riding school and maybe even an afternoon at Otley College to handle the animals they have there –this may be at extra cost to the student.
