By Trevor Todd and Michael Tran Asteroids and comets By Trevor Todd and Michael Tran

What are asteroids made of? An asteroid is a rocky object up to kilometers wide that revolves around the Sun.

What are comets made out of? A comet is a frozen mass of different kinds of ice and dust that is in orbit around the Sun.

What are different types of asteroids There is asteroid Ida and is the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Ida is about 58 kilometers long and 23 kilometers wide. While the asteroid Eros became the first asteroid to be orbited and landed upon by a spacecraft. Eros is 33 kilometers long and 13 kilometers thick.

What are the different parts of a comet? The Nucleus of a comet is very small, often only a few kilometers across. The coma is a giant cloud of dust and evaporated gases called the coma. The two tails are outward moving particles of the Sun, called solar wind, always push the two tails in a direction away from the sun.
