Presentation transcript:

Comets: A large body in space made up of rock, ice and frozen gas. Mostly made of ice When it travels close to the sun, ice melts off and becomes a gas. This melting process cause bits of dust and debris to trail behind the comet. The trail can be seen in the night sky.

Asteroids: Large body in space made of rocks and minerals Mostly made of rock Found in the Asteroid Belt- between Mars and Jupiter Sometimes they can get bounced towards Earth When they collide, pieces chip off called Meteors

Meteors: Small pieces of rock that was broken off an asteroid. The streak of light seen when a space rock enters the atmosphere and starts burning up (falling star). Some enter the Earths atmosphere every day. Most burn up, but if they land on Earth they are called Meteorites.
