Making Sense Review 2014 - Update Review Recommendations Access to up-to-date practical advice for schools, learners and parents High Quality CLPL (school, local and national level) related to meeting the needs of learners with dyslexia ITE/Postgraduate course content to include dyslexia and additional support needs Action to improve the quality of educational outcomes for learners with dyslexia Improved availability and use of reliable information on learners needs, development and achievements.

Recommendation 4- Actions in progress – Pilot Development of a collaborative action research model which supports participating schools and local authorities improve inclusive practice. It is envisaged that schools will lead their own projects within this pilot model, supported by Education Scotland. On-going development of resources and training opportunities for dyslexia and inclusive practice. Liaison with HMI colleges

Inclusive Practice and Dyslexia Friendly Schools Inclusive practice is about meeting the needs of all learners, putting the learner at the centre of the curriculum and ensuring that barriers are removed to enable them to: • Participate and learn to the best of their ability. • Gain as much as possible from the opportunities which Curriculum for Excellence can provide • Move into a positive and sustained destination. Encourage all teachers to be familiar with, and make appropriate use of the Addressing Dyslexia Toolkit.
