Proposal for Document Structure TSG T1 #3, Miami, 14 - 16th June, 1999

Purpose of Documents Type Approval Regulatory For regional regulators to adopt as a harmonised standard. It ensures conformance with national regulations and ensures coexistence with other electronic equipment and services Interoperability Test cases For network operators to ensure compatibility and interoperability with other network equipment, to guarantee a minimum level of performance and to allow global roaming Voluntary Test cases A recognised set of supplementary test cases for additional features and services or for higher user equipment performance, allowing operators to offer higher quality and extended services

Proposed Document Structure 34.11x 34.12x 34.13x Type Approval Regulatory Global Mandatory Compatibility Interoperability Test cases Voluntary Test cases Users: All regulators All manufacturers All operators All manufacturers Some operators Some manufacturers

Initial Structure 34.13x 34.11x 34.12x Voluntary Test cases Place holders for proposed voluntary test cases Type Approval Place holders for proposed regulatory test cases Global Mandatory Compatibility Complete suite of test cases, our primary working document References. References.

Final Document Structure 34.13x 34.11x 34.12x Voluntary Test cases All defined test cases for optional features and extended performance Type Approval Self contained document suitable for adoption by any regulator Global Mandatory Compatibility All test cases necessary for global compatibility and interoperability Cross References Cross References
