EPD Institute: engineering enabling science Informal educators from around the country attended Earth System Science by NASA on Science On a Sphere as part of EPD at GSFC on June 30th followed by a hands-on activity to teach how NASA’s ocean color satellite measurements are used to map global phytoplankton amounts in the ocean’s surface. Photos by Kristen Weaver Informal educators used the littleBits® electronic kit with red-green-blue LED light and sensor to measure light transmission through different water samples June 2015 Stephanie Schollaert Uz, GSFC, stephanie.uz@nasa.gov
