What happened at a slave auction? Describe what you think about selling human beings as property? Why do you think this? Extension- why were slaves traded to begin with?

Key words….. Slave auctions- Slave auctions were held in the South and the North before the American Civil War. Slave families often were separated and sold to slaveholders in distant states.
