Facing the Lion Book Cover Max Hochammer

Lion

Lion I chose a lion picture because in the book Joseph has a lion attack his cattle camp and he runs away scared of the lion and lets the older children deal with the lion.

Cattle

Cattle I chose cattle because to the nomadic people of Africa cattle are every thing and so they play a big role in Joseph life because he is always caring for them.

School

School In the book Joseph goes to a missionary school and he has to take his studies very seriously so he can go to the better schools so he can get a great job and contribute to his family.

Soccer

Soccer I chose soccer because Joseph is on the soccer team at his school. This leads him to become friends with the president of Kenya and get to go to college in America.

Map of America

Map of America I Chose a map of America because Joseph applies to lots of schools all around the country but none gave him scholarships so couldn’t go because of financial issues. Luckily the President funded his education.
