EMPLOYER vs. EMPLOYEES (Survey Results)

1. Have you ever visited a career development specialist? (n = 30) The 50 % of people that were asked did indeed visit a specialist.

2. Where should I look for a job? (n = 30) Looking for a job at a state employment agency and the internet were two most popular answers.

3. What skills and competences might you need as an employer? (n = 30) Not surprisingly positive characteristics are needed to be a good employer.

4. What skills and competences might you need as an employee? (n = 30) 90 % of respondents agree a good employee needs to be communicating with others, have a positive attitude and know how to work with others.

5. What’s the person’s position who has legal labour rights to employ at least one employee? (n = 30) The employer is the one who employs employees.

6. Who is in charge of legal regulation in the labour market? (n = 30) A little under 80 % answered that the state regulates the labour market.

7. Which institutions protect legal rights of an employee? (n = 30) The majority of people that were asked answered that the state institution protects the legal rights of employees.

9. May your employer demand anything from you, or just duties which are written in the employment agreement? (n = 30) Most answered that the employer cannot ask anything, but only the duties stated in the agreement

8. Have you ever seen or signed an employment contract? (n = 30) The answer was split down the middle 50/50

10. May employers in your country require probationary periods? 60 % answered yes and the other 40% did not know.

11. What will happen if I am late to work? (n = 30) The majority agree that if you are late to work you will only get a warning.

12. If the employees or the working staff change a lot in one company, it means: That the company is a bad employer, that is why people go elsewhere and the fluctuation of employees is high.

Age and Gender? The majority of students that filled in the questionnaire were female. 40% of the respondents were in the age group 17-18.
