What 5th Grade Parents Should Know…. Homework: It is due when it is due. We are teaching responsibility at 5th Grade, so no rescuing. Agendas are filled out and signed daily to remind students of homework. Late Work: Students have three days to turn in late work. After that, it becomes a zero. Redo Work: If a child receives below a 70% on an assessment ONLY, the child must see the teacher to get permission to redo the assessment. The child has two days to see the teacher, or the grade remains the same. Infinite Campus does not round up. Ex: A 79.4 is a C.

Continued….. Grades are posted weekly by Wednesday morning. Check Infinite Campus. Attendance: We begin rotations right away in the morning, and we have them until 3pm. It is important that your child be here every day and on time. If your child is absent, they must see the teacher for make up work. The amount of days absent equals the amount of days to make up the work. Ex: 2 days sick=2 days to make up work. Backpacks: Students do not need extra items in the backpacks. All items not being used need to be stored at home.

Continued…. RTI: Response to Intervention allows us time to teach specific reading skills, as well as enrichment. Students will be divided up based on student need. Teams: Northrop: Math and Science Scherr: ELA and Social Studies Colella: Math and Science Pennington: ELA and Social Studies
