Business Improvement District (BID) December 10th 2015 businesses voted to establish a BID for Llanelli Town Centre With an 80% majority The steering group for the pre ballot campaign was made up of: 12 regular members – 2 x County Council, 1 x  Town Council, 8 x Town Centre business owners, 1 x other business owner representing the Chamber of Trade

BID 10 Pledges Set out a long-term strategy to improve our town centre’s appearance Create a more accessible town centre with more affordable parking on and off-street Design and deliver a marketing strategy that attracts more people into town Promote a directory advertising our retail and professional services Incentivise people to shop locally with a town centre loyalty scheme Tackle anti-social behaviour and increase town centre safety Reduce business costs with collective purchasing Sustain existing businesses through training, networks and access to grants Encourage and support new businesses to open successfully Form a strong voice that lobbies and represents Llanelli’s businesses

Town Centre Task Force Established same time as Llanelli BID – Stakeholders public and private sector 4 key themes – Buildings sites & premises, Environment & Access, Marketing / Promotion / Events, People / Training / Business Support 6 Key Performance Indicators – No of vacant units, Footfall, Parking no’s, Cleanliness, Social Media Hits, No of new businesses/business start ups
