Validation items and major Conditions 1.Validation items for Hitachi’s BS 3.5 SPECTRAL MASK AND EMISSION 4.4.4 Maximum BER 4.6 SECURITY SERVICE 2. Conditions of testing Frequency band : 5091MHz~5150MHz (SARPS:5030MHz~5150MHz) Measure PER not BER Radio system with FEC system, measurement by PER is now commonly used, and the method is published by WiMAX Forum testing documents. Refer to the IP. CTC, convolution turbo coding, is used as the coding scheme for measuring receiver sensitivity. Uplink 64QAM is option (not validated) (3.5.4/ 3.5.6/ 4.4.4) Prototype BS is prepared by Hitachi. Measured system for 3.5 and 4.4.4 are wire-connected in indoor LAB. The tested center frequencies are following three points. Low Ch;5095MHz, Mid Ch:5120MHz, High Ch:5145MHz Testing items for Security services function need to be discussed. 2

Appendix 3

1. Emission Test Table 1 Spectral Mask Parameter Tx Spectral Mask Spectrum MASK is as following condition. Emission power would be measured if it is less than these spectrum masks. BS transmission waves are captured by Spectrum Analyzer. A B C C´ D dB -26 -32 --50 Tx Spectral Mask -40 Table 1 Spectral Mask Parameter Frequency Band(MHz) A B C C´ D 5MHz 2.25 2.5 2.75 5 7.5 MHz 4

2.1 Power Control SARPS description is as follows. 3.5.2 The AeroMACS radios shall implement power control Power control would be confirmed by observing the power control function of BS to MS, changing the path-loss value between BS and MS by Attenuator. The confirmed criteria is that transmission power would be changed by BS. 5

2.2 Receiver Rejection Minimum Rejection for adjacent or second adjacent Channel is confirmed by measuring the error rate, which is less than PER, which is equivalent to BER of less than 10e-6. PER is calculated to BER by following equation. PER = 1 – ( 1 – BER) n n : bits unit size of FEC block The signal level is +3dB with correspondent level of adjacent channel interference and second adjacent channel as following table are added. Table 2 Item Modulation Signal level Interference level Adjacent channel (+/-5MHz) 3.5.3 16QAM-3/4 Smin + 3dB Smin + 10dB 3.5.4 64QAM-3/4 Smin + 4dB Second adjacent channel(+/-10MHz) 3.5.5 Smin + 29dB 3.5.6 Smin + 23dB Since the Uplink 64QAM is optional, BS is not applicable for Receiving 64QAM. 6

2.3 Maximum BER(1/2) SARPS :4.4.4 The maximum bit error rate shall not exceed BER 10e-6 after FEC assuming a minimum received signal equal to the corresponding sensitivity level. PER is calculated to BER by following equation. PER = 1 – ( 1 – BER) n n : one unit size of FEC block Measure the maximum error rate with a minimum received signal equal to the corresponding sensitivity level. 7

2.4 Maximum BER(2/2) This Signal sensitivity level data as following table is used by coding scheme CTC. Data is derived from MOPS; Appendix C (AeroMACS minimum receiver sensitivity would be 2dB lower than indicated, if CTC is used) Table3 Receiver Sensitivity Modulation and Coding Scheme Rep. Factor DL Sensitivity UL (dBm) CTC-64QAM-3/4 1 -76.50 CTC-64QAM-2/3 -78.50 CTC-16QAM-3/4 -82.50 CTC-16QAM-1/2 -86.00 CTC-QPSK-3/4 -88.50 CTC-QPSK-1/2 -91.50 2 -94.50 UL 64QAM is option for BS reception 8

2.5 Security Service(1/2) Regarding SECURITY SERVICE functions, we think testing methods are as follows. SARPS Testing item Testing contents Refer standard Testing Method 4.6.1 integrity of messages confirmed by CRC field MOPS : 2.2.8.4.16.1.2 Cyclic Redundancy Check(CRC) Try 1 call between MS and BS while measuring by monitor function. Confirm the sequence on AeroMACS radio path(R1), and item field, which should be confirmed in message. are memorized by monitor. 4.6.2 ensure the authenticity of messages confirmed by CMAC field MOPS : 2.2.7.5.4.4 Cipher-based message authentication code (CMAC) 4.6.4 confidentiality of messages confirmed by TEK function. MOPS : 2.2.7.2.2.2.6 Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) 4.6.5 authenticate users of the system confirmed by EAP function MOPS : 2.2.7.2.2.2.2 EAP Authentication 9

Testing Items to be confirmed 2.6 Security Service(2/2) Following items need to be discussed. SARPS Testing item Testing Contents status Testing Items to be confirmed 4.6.3 availability of the system Should be confirmed The function which guarantee the transferred data integrity would be confirmed by EAP function. The definition of availability should be confirmed. 4.6.6 authorize the permitted actions of users (authorized uses during unauthorized events) This is not confirmed by equipment level, but should be confirmed by system level. The definition of permitted action should be cleared. Confirm authorized uses during unauthorized events. 4.6.7 prevent intrusion from lower integrity information domain to higher integrity information domain How to prevent intrusion method should be defined. 10
