Topographical Maps : indicates to scale the natural and human features on the Earths surface. Ie: shows power lines and where they are located across the country Thematic Maps: reveal the geographic patterns or distributions over the Earths surface. Ie: used to track rainfall across the country

Should be: North should always be the top of the page, use a ruler BORDER: sets the map apart from other information Should be: around the entire map, and of equal proportions DATE OF PUBLICATION: indicates how recent the data is Should include: indicate who produced map, and when it was produced.
