Science Week 2016

Our Week of events…… Monday: Year 5 are taking part in their 3rd Global Renewables Workshop all about the properties of different materials. Professor Brainstorm will be with Reception, Y1, Y2 and Y3 for his ‘Amazing Sound and Light Show’. Professor Brainstorm will be with Y4, 5 and 6 for his ‘Mission to Mars Show’.

Our Week of events…… We are lucky to have Mr Featonby in school an expert in Physics Education carrying out workshops throughout the school on ‘Spinning Tops’ and ‘What Happens Next?’ Year 3 are on a visit to ‘Dobbies’ to investigate planting and growing.

Our Week of events…… Wednesday: Rowan Vets are coming into school to visit Reception and Year 2. In the afternoon we have our Science Fair in School. 3:20pm – 4:00pm All parents, carers and children are invited to explore our Science Fair in the main building. Please come along and share in the amazing science experiments with whoever is collecting you from school.

Our Week of events…… Thursday: Year 1 are going on their visit to Farmer Parrs to support their Science curriculum work on animals, birds and reptiles.

Our Week of events…… Friday: Year 4 are going to the University of Central Lancashire to take part in a ‘Cosmic Chemisty’ Workshop. All week you will be working towards a ‘The Great Invention’ competition in school, where classes will be thinking up their own designs and even creating stories around them to share on Friday afternoon with a partner class. We will look forward to sharing the winners and some of the amazing ideas.
