Assessment Some ways we test theoretical knowledge are: We use a range of methods to assess knowledge, so that information can be tested in classroom and clinical settings to best prepare you for placement and life after you complete the course Some ways we test theoretical knowledge are: Examinations Assignments Presentations Lab/simulations E-learning Clinical Practice Competency is a Pass/Fail grade before you’re safe to go out on placement What if I don’t pass the first time? That’s okay, there often isn’t a ‘one time only’ assessment and there are usually chances to make up the assessment or reattempt

Other Considerations Before you start your course at Mayfield you need to consider a few things Do you have any learning challenges? if so these need to be documented in the pre learning check list. This will also enable us to make up an individual learning plan to suit these needs. Do you understand what the job entails? Being part of the health organisation is not a 9 to 5 job. Shift work is involved which includes early, late and night shifts.

Work Placement Placement is where you get to practice your skills with real clients We can to organize placement close to home at a Blue Cross facility On rare occasions placement may be cancelled by the host btu this is for very good reasons eg.
