Apply Pythagorean Theorem Bingo S Apply Pythagorean Theorem Bingo Play bingo with problems involving Pythagorean Theorem. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Open the internet and go to the following website; https://bingobaker.com/view/551022. The teacher will present a problem on the board, students will work the problem and find the solution on their bingo card on the iPad. The first person to get 5 in a row, across, diagonally wins. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Solve problems using Pythagorean Theorem TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/email: Ashley Adams (ashley.adams@cpsb.org) School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8.G.B Understanding and apply the Pythagorean Theorem Grade Level/Subject: 8th Mathematics Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher discretion of how many games to play. Activity Evaluation: Teacher Evaluation Prerequisites for students: 8.G.7 Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.

Quizizz on applying Pythagorean Theorem Take a Quizizz to check for understanding on applying Pythagorean Theorem AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Open the internet and go to join.quizizz.com Enter the 5-digit code 11464, then click proceed. Enter your name and click join game. Solve and answer the given questions. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Solve problems using Pythagorean Theorem TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/email: Ashley Adams (ashley.adams@cpsb.org) School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8.G.B Understanding and apply the Pythagorean Theorem Grade Level/Subject: 8th Mathematics Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Quizizz data Prerequisites for students: 8.G.7 Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.

ShowMe Your Own Problem Create a problem/situation for applying Pythagorean Theorem MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable On the iPad, create a ShowMe app presentation of your own real-life word problem/situation involving Pythagorean Theorem. The presentation must include: Title (Problem title and group member names) Your created problem/situation Your problem/situation worked out Your findings/solution. Use any features on the ShowMe app to enhance your presentation. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Solve problem using Pythagorean Theorem TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/email: Ashley Adams (ashley.adams@cpsb.org) School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8.G.B Understanding and apply the Pythagorean Theorem Grade Level/Subject: 8th Mathematics Special Directions/Considerations: Show students different features ShowMe app offers Activity Evaluation: Teacher created rubric-Rubric 1 on overview page Prerequisites for students: 8.G.7 Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.

Pythagorean Theorem Wiki Web Page Create a web page using Wiki tools in Blackboard. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Log in to Blackboard. Then click on Ashley Adams under My Courses. On the left, click the 8th Grade Math button. Click on the assignment Pythagorean Theorem Wiki. Choose two-real world situations that are similar to represent a Pythagorean Theorem problem. For example, two different wheelchair ramp options for a company to install. You can use the internet to research real information from real companies about the situation you chose. When are your ready to begin your Wiki (webpage), click on Pythagorean Theorem Wiki, then Create Wiki. The name of the Wiki will be real world situation such as Comparing Wheelchair Ramps. In the content box, you will provide the following: A written description of the situation that you chose. The visual representation of the situation. For example, a drawing of the two wheelchair ramps with dimensions using some sketch pad of your choice to upload a screenshot of the image onto your webpage. The work out problems of the situation. Write the solution and include a description of why it is your solution. After you have finished your Wiki, you will review a different Wiki and comment on the problem that they have presented. You will also comment on the accuracy of their solution. This task uses: Blackboard Wiki Learning Objective(s): Solve problem using Pythagorean Theorem TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/email: Ashley Adams (ashley.adams@cpsb.org) School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8.G.B Understanding and apply the Pythagorean Theorem Grade Level/Subject: 8th Mathematics Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Blackboard Rubric-Rubric 2 on Overview Page Prerequisites for students: 8.G.7 Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.
