Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 Businesses must by law – Provide a safe place for workers to work Provide necessary safety training Provide safety clothing Make workers aware of any potential dangers Put up clear signs to alert people to dangers e.g. wet floor Make sure equipment safe and maintained well Workers must Act in safe way Wear safety clothing Follow safety rules

Activity 3 You need to write about 2 laws Explain how the law affects McDonalds. What would McDonalds need to do to meet the H&S at W Act 1974 What could happen it law not followed – extreme cases Trading Standards could close down the restaurant.
