History April, 1997 Kochi University of Technology opened as a private university April, 1999 Graduate School of Engineering opened April, 2008 School of Management opened . April, 2009 KUT transformed to a public university first in Japan April, 2015 KUT moved its School of Management to the Eikokuji campus in Kochi City.

At KUT all courses are electives (there are no compulsory courses). Developing students' potential to the maximum with KUT’s “unique-in-Japan educational system.” Students can freely select courses that match their interests and align with their future objectives. There are no compulsory subjects. The instructors give the students advice about taking courses.

Selection Time of enrollment: April and October Number of students to be admitted: No more than 3 SSP students can be enrolled concurrently for each project leader Students should be 35 years old or under at the time of enrollment for each project Application deadline: Middle of March and September 1st screening: documentary exam 2nd screening: interview and written exams (English, specialization) hopefully in the home country
