Affiliate Brand Realignment Timeline August: NAEYC publishes Affiliate brand and style guidelines August & beyond: NAEYC creates templates and toolkits for Affiliates December: Affiliation realignment January–June: NAEYC creates foundational logos (those not requesting a special case), reviews and approves special-case logos. All Affiliates not requesting a special case to have logos in place by July 1, 2017 June–December: Migration into the new brand. Affiliates to be using the new brand and style on all member-facing materials by January 2018

Affiliate Brand Realignment: Resources Affiliate Brand and Style Guidelines We are sharing this document now for planning and to provide more details about the new brand moving forward. Please plan to put these guidelines in effect once you receive/receive approval on your Affiliate logo. Member Recruitment and Communications Toolkit A collection of materials with tips, tools, and resources to help you in your marketing and recruiting efforts. How to Upload Affiliate Application All applications must be submitted online Combine narratives and documents into a single PDF file In order as they appear in the application Use the Checklist and Instruction sheet for additional guidance The online system will accept up to 10 files File size is limited to 30 MB Application updated to include a request for Bylaws and the signature page

Latest Guidance: August 22 Affiliate Communique HPIO Include 2-3 specific actions Stating commitment to HPIO is a plus, but not enough Audits and Budgets Last 3 years audits required (2013-2015) Expenses over revenue not enough Who Decides? Affiliate Relations Committee (of the board) sends recommendations Governing Board (ultimate authority of approval) 3 notifications; upon submission, when the Committee sends their recommendations to the Board, and after the January 2017 Board meeting

Affiliate Application Review Process Authority to approve applications - NAEYC Governing Board, as recommended by the NAEYC Affiliate Relations Committee. Applications categorized into four tiers Tier I - application is complete, no waivers Tier 2 - application is incomplete Tier 3 - application contains waiver requests Tier 4 - application flagged for additional review

Affiliate Application Review Process Tier 1 Application complete, documentation verified by staff Sent to Affiliate Relations Committee in a consent agenda Approved applications sent to Governing Board for approval in January 2017 Tier 2 Application incomplete, missing documentation, requires staff follow up and affiliate response within specified timeframe. If resolved, application is moved to Tier 1. If unresolved, or if the Affiliate is unresponsive, application is moved to Tier 4

Affiliate Application Review Process Tier 3 Application contains waiver request(s) Staff engage appropriate departments in expanded review Staff sends Affiliate Relations Committee staff feedback/recommendations Committee determines if waiver requests are acceptable as outlined in the NAEYC Affiliate Policies and Procedures/Charter Agreement Tier 4 Application flagged for substantial verification and internal staff discussion Committee is notified of all Tier 4 applications and staff recommendations Committee determines next steps and communication in accordance with NAEYC Affiliate Policies and Procedures/Charter Agreement
