Housing First Guide Europe Highly effective model in addressing homelessness Guide to Provide necessary information to implement, staff and operate a Housing Programme Useful Guide to large and small Housing First programmes

Who’s the Guide for? People who want to know more about what Housing First means and how it works in Europe Practitioners and local policy makers who are implementing, or interested in developing, Housing First Managers and frontline staff of homeless services It can also be relevant for: People working in related sectors such as health and housing; national and local policy-makers; researchers; people with experience of homelessness and other stakeholders.

Housing First Guide: 6 Units What is Housing First? Core principles of Housing First Delivering support in Housing First Delivering housing in Housing First Evaluating Housing First Housing First and Wider Strategy 1) Description what housing first is and how it works, history of Housing first and evidence that hf works in different areas 2) Summarizes the core principles of Housing First, Housing First can exist in several forms. 3) Shows how support in provided in HF. Enabling choice (personalisation), providing intensive open-ended support following harm reduction and separating housing from support (unconditional housing) are the main features of Housing First 4) Explores he different ways in which housing can be provided 5) This units covers outcome measurement but also process evaluation and fidelity testing 6) Looks at the role of Housing first in the wider homeless strategy, meaning how can HF can work alongside other homeless services

How to Use the Guide READ // WATCH // TEST Each unit tries to answer a number of key questions through different types of resources and activities. Read: a chapter of the Guide 6 chapters, one for very unit (written by Nicholas Pleace based on the comments of the Advisory Board) You can watch videos, presentations and other materials We have also have been filming in 6 different cities in Europe One introductory video, one or several clips in every unit, other materials Country fact sheets Larger strategies individual project fiches One test for every unit
