INTRODUCTION LgT-1 EA LgT-1 EMP 1993: Tanjung Langsat Industrial Park (TLIP) EIA Including Tanjung Langsat Port EIA 2007: Langsat Terminal (One) (LgT-1) EIA LgT-1 EMP LgT-1 EA

Objectives OBJECTIVE SPECIFIC To conduct an assessment of the environmental impact by taking sample through in-situ and off-situ test. To determine the compliance to the legal requirement in operating development To specify control measurement for the significant environmental residual impact. GENERAL To study and audit the environmental impacts which arise from the development and construction at Tg.Langsat Port OBJECTIVE

WHY DO WE NEED EIA? Planning mechanism for preventing or minimize the adverse effects of major development proposals to the environment. Provide information for decision making on the environmental consequences of proposed action. Promote environmentally sound and sustainable development trough the identification of appropriate enhancement and mitigation measure.

Water Quality Monitoring

Water Quality Monitoring Source of Water Contaminant: Rainfall and runoff Discharge/release of petroleum products due to accidental spills, leaks and releases in storage, process and transport Inappropriate disposal/storage of potentially hazardous materials on-site.

Water Quality Monitoring Findings: Parameters GW1 GW2 Allowable Limits 6/10/11 23/11/11 Temp. Air Quality Monitoring Findings: All measurement are below the limit of Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Guidelines No significant health impact due to readings: Vision problems Respiratory disturbance Cancer

Non-Schedule Waste Findings: Domestic waste only Schedule of disposal for domestic waste are periodically in every day to communal bins and every two days to the landfill. Arranged council municipal.

Schedule Waste Findings: Sources: Petroleum product filters Sludge from tank cleaning & operation Oily residue from the CPI Collected in a proper container and building before managed by Kualiti Alam/other competent contractors appointed by municipal council.

Conclusion Environmental impacts are most-likely not significant due to the compliance to the limits in guideline/regulation. Vehicle crash commonly happened due to the road problems. Many holes found on the road due to heavy vehicle. Crash happened due to careless while driving and riding. Health impacts seems to be happened to the nearest residents – but the factors might also from their lifestyles, ages and working conditions (hypersensitivity, vision disturbance and hearing loss).
