Becoming a donor It is a simple process. Discuss your wish to donate with your next-of-kin. If you are 18 years or older, just fill out a Donor Card. Fill in your name and sign and date the card. Who can donate eyes? Eyes can be donated by any person. Person with the history of hypertension, diabetes, asthma, tuberculosis etc can donate their eyes. Spectacle wearers and people who have undergone cataract surgery in past can donate their eyes. There is no age limit for eye donation. Dr. Sanjay. K. Singh

What precautions to be taken after death of a donor? Switch off fans. Please raise the head of the deceased by about six inches, if possible. Ensure that eyelids are properly shut and place a clean wet cloth over the eyelids. Dr. Sanjay. K. Singh

What precautions to be taken after death of a donor? Please do not put vermilon, abir and rice over eyes or face of the deceased. Inform the eye bank team as soon as possible. Keep a copy of death certificate (if possible). Dr. Sanjay. K. Singh
