What is Happening? Price increase from contracted vendor takes effect 1 January 2017. Candidates to not experience the increase until 1 April 2017. The increase is for the “seat time” we pay Pearson VUE. Fees paid by certification Candidates have not increased since 2011.

2017 Application, Registration, and CPE Reporting Fee Increase Several factors contributed to the decision to increase the fees: Our certification vendor, Pearson VUE, will increase prices for candidate “seat time” (the amount of time allotted for candidate testing) at all Pearson VUE test centers. First price increase experienced from Pearson VUE since we began utilizing their test centers in 2008. Based on market demand, certification portfolio expanded significantly over the last several years. We launched the CRMA, QIAL, and Internal Audit Practitioner programs; and acquired the BEAC Certification programs (CPEA and CPSA). These additions have been funded on the original business model. The IIA continues to invest in the security of our certification portfolio intellectual property. This investment ensures the rigor, credibility, and reputation of our certification programs. IIA Global compared the new fees against other organizations and determined that IIA Global certification fees are in line with industry pricing.

2017 Continuing Professional Education Fees (Paid by Institute) 2017 CPE Fee Increase 2017 Continuing Professional Education Fees (Paid by Institute)   Member Non-Member Product Current 2017 Fee CIA or QIAL CPE/CPD US $12.50 US $17.50 US $50 US $60 Specialty CPE US $5 US $10 CPE fee increase: Members - $5.00 for CIA and Specialty Non-Members $10 (if paid by Institute) If an Institute pays the CPE reporting fee on behalf of their certified individuals, by July, Institute is eligible for substantial discount. If Institute doesn’t pay on behalf of certified individuals, then the individual is responsible to pay the fee. New exhibits will be distributed in early 2017 which outline the full discount options for Institutes.

CPE fees are used to fund current and future program operations ensuring the rigor, reputation, relevance, and security of the certification program.
