LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE SAVCA 2017 PE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA CONFERENCE 22 February 2017

WHAT DOES IT MEAN ‘’Follow your instincts, be curious, dream big, love what you do, love learning, keep an open heart , an open mind & a strong spirit. Have Fun’’. Unknown “The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away” David Viscott. Gifts/talent without hard work and further investment in self do not equal success and a purposeful life.

Invest in yourself Mind Body Soul Hard & Soft Skills LOGO

INVESTING IN MEANGFUL RELATIONSHIPS ‘Realise that all relationships should be reciprocal, whether it is a mentor or a mentee or a client. Ask yourself, How can I support him or her? ’’. Tai Beauchamp Lessons learnt: Developing and maintaining meaningful relationships start with authenticity, engaging ethically and with honesty and ensuring there is a mutual benefit to the partnership. This attitude works both in family and business relationships. The goodwill generated transcends generations.

INVESTING IN MEANGFUL RELATIONSHIPS (‘contd) ‘’Don’t lose the human touch to technology’’ Yvonne McNair A lot is lost in emails that could be more effectively handled by human interaction, especially if there is disagreement.

THE ART OF GIVING ‘’We make a living by what we get, but we make a (purposeful) life by what we give’’ Winston Churchill

THE ART OF GIVING ‘’We make a living by what we get, but we make a (purposeful) life by what we give’’ Winston Churchill

GIVING BACK Giving of your time, your skills, your networks, and financial support. Finding a cause that you’re passionate about makes giving easy and fulfilling. Sometimes a cause finds you, be open to that too. Be persistent Find a balance between the conviction of what you know, the value you bring and learning from the people you want to help.

GIVING BACK Making a difference starts with small initiatives. Educating one child changes the outcomes of generations and has the potential to inspire communities. Acknowledgement of people within your work environment
