Preview of the Company Mátrai Welding Technology and Vocational Training Ltd is the greatest welding- training base in the region of North-Hungary, established by Mátrai Power Plant in the 1980’s. In Visonta , which is 80 kms far from Budapest, welding-training, qualification, retraining and interrogation is continuous since 1986. Our modern welding base – which satisfies every need - won the ’Excellent Weldingbase’ honourable title in 1989. Our Company is the reference welding base of Hunarian Association of Welding Technology and Material Testing (MHTE).

Preview of the Company Mátrai Welding Technology and Vocational Training Ltd was established for the sake of satisfaction of training needs evolved during the social- and economic changings, and the increased qualitative requirements of assembly works in 1998; the Company was isolated from Mátrai Power Plant also in this year. Our Company with 30 years of experience has grown to a training center, which is able to satisfy the needs of qualified experts for the industry of the region, and significantly contributes to the national welding expert training as well.

Preview of the Company Our main activity is the vocational secondary education - regular state recognised education: technical training of 40-50 Welding students annual, from Egri Szakképzési Centrum József Attila VET School - non-regular adult education: the so-called adult education: we organize different Welding courses with approx. 500 exams annually.

Milestones We are collaborating with Hunarian Association of Welding Technology and Material Testing (MHTE), and organizing various trainings which give International certification; our Company was accredited on this by the European Welding Federation and the International Institute of Welding in 1999. To ensure the continuous increase and the ability to measure partner satisfaction in 2001, the Company was one of the 1st to apply the ÉMI-TÜV SÜD Ltd quality certification system in the Welding education, -qualification, -certification and education materials. This certification includes all our major educational services that are also DIN EN ISO 9001:2009 certified.

Milestones In 2003 our institution was accreditied by the Adult Education Accreditation Body which ensures the attendants that our company’s educational methods are in line with the higher quality standards that are mandated by the law. In 2006 with the help of the Gábor Baross Innovation Program’s research and development project we completed „Installation and adaptation of high-tech virtual welding environment in welding education and training in Hungary” which allows our attendants to learn the basic techniques of welding in the CS WAVE virtual environment.

Milestones To ensure high quality education in 2009 we accredited our programmes by the Adult Education Accreditation Body. Since 2012 our Company has the authority to organize National Qualification Registry exams which allows us to perform the final exams not just for our programmes, but also exams for other educational institutions. Our licence includes the following partial-qualifications: -MMA welder -MIG/MAG welder -Gas welder -TIG welder

Milestones To align with the new Adult education law in 2014 we got licence for the following trainings: -Training cycle ’A’: National Qualification Registry trainings: -MMA welder -MIG/MAG welder -Gas welder -TIG welder -Training cycle ’B’: other technical trainings: -Certified welder Since 2015 our International Welder (IW) and International Welder Practitioner (IWP) programmes are conducted under the effect of the Consumer law.

Milestones On behalf of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry we are participating in the process of defining requirements of the national welding educational and exam system. We are monitoring and if possible applying the new and useful methods of regular state recognised education and non-regular adult education technical training. We also take part in improving of these new educational and exam methods. Since 2008 working together with Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry our Company is actively participating in the conduct of „Profession Star” Festival. In that festival only graduate students with the greatest technical knowledge compete. Since 2012 we have the opportunity to participate in open International competitions, so our attendants can experience the European and Global professional athmosphere.

Milestones -Since 2015 we are part of the Erasmus+ programme, namely the MAKE IT project. With the help of this project we are working together with our EU partners on an innovative secondary level educational programme for the EWP training. We also work on acknowledgement and evaluation of competencies and on the harmonization of these into the EQF and ECVET credit systems.

Our objectives Target of Mátrai Welding Ltd is to provide euro-compatible qualification for those who resort welder training sevice. We would like to augment Hungarian professional culture by establishing the qualitative training, which can be useful in Hungary and other countries of Europe.
