Presentation transcript:

“Prepare To Meet Your God” (Amos 4:6-13) Amos tells Israel He has left signposts along their way warning them of a greater judgment. God has left warning signs for us to prepare to meet God! Are you ready to meet God right now? If not, isn’t it time to start preparing to meet Him?

What must we do to start preparing to meet God? For the Alien—Believe, Repent, Confess Christ, Be Baptized (Mk. 16: 15,16; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:35-39; Acts 22:16. For the Baptized Believer—Repent, Confess sins, pray for forgiveness (Acts 8:13-22; 1 John 1:9; James 5:16). Acts 8:5-23 is a demonstration of both sets of pardon!

Old Testament Warning Signs for us to prepare to meet God! The Flood (2 Pet. 3:3-14). The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet. 2:4-9). Exodus 12:29,30—”…there was not a house where there was not one dead” These are not given just so we have the history, but are given as warning signs for us!

God’s Judgment on Israel (Matt. 23:34-24:34). New Testament Exhortations! God’s Judgment on Israel (Matt. 23:34-24:34). Warnings of final Judgment (2 Cor. 5:10; Acts 17:30,31). Warnings of punishment of Hell (2 Thess. 1:7-9; Matt. 25:41,46). Teaching concerning the rewards of heaven (Matt. 25:34,46; 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

Events and Principles of this Physical life are signposts warning us! Sickness, diseases and the death of friends and loved ones. Accidents and tragedies tell us to prepare to meet God! The Love of God begs us to Prepare to meet God (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8). Some say, “I can’t believe in a God that would condemn anyone to Hell!” Each person, not God, makes choice!

Jesus begs us to come to Him for Salvation (Matt. 11:28; Rev. 3:20)! Do you believe there is God? Do you believe you have a responsi- bility to God? Do you appreciate what God has done for our redemption? Have you shown that appreciation? Have you responded to the invitation? Are you prepared to meet God? If not, when are you going to prepare?
