Texting101 What words/phrases to the abbreviations in the text conversation represent? What are some other of abbreviations you use? Why do you think people use abbreviations? Are there any disadvantages of using abbreviations?

THE mighty Periodic Table Arranges all the elements in order of the size of their atoms by a symbol Groups together elements with similar properties

THE mighty Periodic Table Group Metalloids Non-metals -> -> Metals -> Period

How do you read the table?

How do you read the table? Helium has TWO protons and TWO electrons The atomic number shows the number of protons in an element. In any element, number of electrons = number of protons.

An ATOM A particle that cannot be divided further and consists of protons, neutrons and electrons An element Every unique element on the periodic table has its own atomic number, which means it has a different number of protons and electrons. For example, the helium atom contains 2 protons, 2 electrons and 2 neutrons.

What about the Carbon atom? What is the difference between these two elements?? Hydrogen atom Helium atom Atomic Number 1 2 Number of electrons Number of protons Hydrogen atom Helium atom Atomic Number Number of electrons Number of protons What about the Carbon atom?
