Grammar Irregular Plural Nouns

Irregular Plural Nouns The children made a time machine. The word children is a plural noun. Because it does not form its plural by adding –s, -es, or –ies, it is called an irregular plural noun.

Irregular Plural Nouns A plural noun names more than one person, place, or thing. Most nouns add –s to form the plural. An irregular plural noun has a special form for the plural. Singular Nouns: The child learned about the life of the woman. Irregular Plural Nouns: The children learned about the lives of the women.
