READING Text book stories, class novels, classroom library books, school library books Students should be reading for 15 minutes every school night. Reading journals will keep track of their daily reading. Bring your novels to school and share!

WRITING Writing journals will be used to explore writing in all stages. Notebooks will be used for taking notes. Notebooks and reading comprehension worksheets will be used for reading responses.

Spelling and Grammar Students should write spelling words 5 times each in their notebook and write the example sentence 1 time. Spelling test will be given periodically. Throughout the year, we will study the parts speech, types of sentences, and proper mechanics. Students should use tidy and clear penmanship for all assignments.
