What are the Rockies? Where are the Rockies? Western North America Continent: USA(Western Canada) Country British Columbia Longitude: 44.2643 degrees North Latitude: 109.7870 degrees West Language Spoken: Algonquin

Main features/Geography The mountains are more than 2000m.They have been living there 5400-5800 years.There is a place named death valley which is 86m below sea level. The highest peak is Mount Elbert which is located in Colorado at 14440ft (4401m) above sea level.

Weather The Rockies has unpredictable weather that changes rapidly. The climate changing with increasing altitude. They have mild summers/ cold winters followed along by deep snow/ high winds and sudden blizzards are common.

Animals Lots of animals make their home in the Rockies such as: Elk, Moose, Mule Deer, White Tailed Deer, Pronghorn, Mountain Goat, Big Horn Sheep, Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Grey Wolf, Coyote, Cougar, Bobcat, Canadian Lynx and wolverine.
